      Unsurprisingly, travel to the\r\nisland is by boat and being a well established tourist destination there are\r\nseveral ferry services available every day from Velana International Airport as\r\nwell as from Mal\u00e9. The local ferry service which operates daily from Mal\u00e9 to\r\nMaafushi costs just US$ 2.00 each way. This is a relaxing journey through the\r\nislands and reefs of South Mal\u00e9 Atoll and it takes 90 minutes to reach the\r\nisland. A much faster option is offered by the speedboat ferry services on\r\nwhich the fare is US$ 25 each way and the travel time is just 30 minutes. There\r\nare several speedboat services every day from early in the morning till late\r\nnight, that operates from Velana International Airport.
