Lake, situated at a height of almost 4,350m, is the world's highest saltwater
lake. The months of summer commencing from May right up to September is the

Permit is not required for visiting all the areas.

Khardung
La, also known as Khardzong La, is a high mountain pass in Ladakh region of
Jammu and Kashmir The pass is on the Ladakh Range, north of Leh, and connects
the Indus river valley and the Shyok river valley. It also forms the gateway to
the Nubra Valley. Khardungla Pass, perched at an impressive altitude of 5,359
metres above sea level, is often celebrated as the 'highest motorable pass in
the world'

uphill in defiance of gravity when they are, in fact, rolling downhill

Shanti Stupa
Shanti
Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed Stupa on a hilltop in Chanspa. It was built in
1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura. The Shanti Stupa holds the
relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama.
